The 13th International Meeting on Fully Three-Dimensional Image Reconstruction in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine

چکیده
Due to the limited number of projections at each phase, the image quality of a four-dimensional cone-beam CT (4D-CBCT) is often degraded, which decreases the accuracy of subsequent motion modeling. Various strategies have been proposed to enhance the image quality of 4D-CBCT. One of the promising methods is the simultaneous motion estimation and image reconstruction (SMEIR) approach. However, one drawback of SMEIR is the long computational time. The objective of this work is to enhance the computational speed of the SMEIR algorithm using feature-based tetrahedral meshing and GPU-based parallelization.

The 8th International Meeting on Fully Three-dimensional Image Reconstruction in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Salt Lake
This paper explores fast reconstruction strategies for 3D time-of-flight (TOF) PET, based on 2D data rebinning. We introduce TOF-FORE, an approximate rebinning algorithm obtained by extending the Fourier rebinning method for non-TOF data. In addition, we identify two partial differential equations that must be satisfied by consistent 3D TOF data, and use them to derive exact rebinning algorithm...
متن کاملMethods to evaluate the performance of kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography in the three-dimensional reconstruction space
Background: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanners for image-guided radiotherapy are in clinical use today, but there has been no consensus on uniform acceptance to verify the CBCT image quality yet. The present work proposed new methods to fully evaluate the performance of CBCT in its three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction space. Materials and Methods: Compared to the traditional methods...
متن کاملDevelopment and Evaluation of Image Reconstruction Algorithms for a Novel Desktop SPECT System
Objective (s): Various iterative reconstruction algorithms in nuclear medicine have been introduced in the last three decades. For each new imaging system, it is wise to select appropriate image reconstruction algorithms and evaluate their performance. In this study, three approaches of image reconstruction were developed for a novel desktop open-gantry SPECT system, PERSPECT, to assess their p...
متن کاملSurface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...
